They want to replace her. We want her to live.
We, skippers, owners, sponsors, volunteers, partners and lovers of offshore racing, join our voices so that La Solitaire lives on: a monument of offshore racing that, since 1970, has made French sailing the finest in the world. A race where the ranking rewards the sailor, never the budget.
We affirm that its fifty-seven editions form a common sporting heritage, built by thousands of sailors, fifty ports and half a century of public commitment. A capital that no player, whoever they may be, can capture or denature without consulting those who built it.
We ask for three things: the withdrawal of the decision of 17 July 2026 and the opening of a genuine consultation with all parties; a fair examination of the economic solutions that allow the race to live without denying its nature (one-design, open, formative); and, for the Ocean Fifty class, the creation of a great race under its own name.
We are against no one. We defend: a race, an ecosystem, a heritage. And though we will yield on none of the three, every player, organiser included, keeps a place in the solution.
